The Costa Rican horse, like many other breeds of horses in Latin © rica and the Caribbean, descended from horses of Berber origin traÃdos by espaà ± oles during the conquest. But unlike these, the Costa Rican ³ does not develop in a horse walker tÃpico but its air is a gentle trot, harmonious and well-defined, high Flexia ³ n knees and hocks.

The development of the horses Costa Rica's national did not have much importance, such as race yes, until the early twentieth century, when imported the first horses Espaà ± a and Peru in order to give more s elegance and ease a little Creole gait of animals.

Proceeds of the national stud horses traÃdos of Peru, there was a consistent type horse, across © s of the last few year ± os, has proven to have sufficient genetic value © tico transmissible to give definite characteristics. Its main features are its beauty, elegance and energy from your movements, soft chair and excellent temperament. On May 2, 1994 is called ³ the Costarricense de Paso Horse Race of Costa Rica.

Of course, also all the © n variety of colors!

Good morning, I'm from Costa Rica and I am loving this race, if I permeten opinion, the Costa Rican horse step aside from his gait, brio, agility and different layers of colors allowed in its standard, morphology is a great attribute since a long time ago is improving, is seeking aminals with good piston in the rear and good paste inserts in the head, plus a good rib cage.
They are Beautiful and balanciados. If you think I lso I can send pictures of best national exponences. Thanks

Yesterday was talking with a friend and decÃa that some of these races have lost their functionality, have gone from riding horses or work to become only of exhibition races n ... the sad thing is they all have the ability to be both!

As I decÃa Jo-Ann in a previous comment, this race draws my attention n their brao and collected trot, but I especially liked his athletic ability and agility © tica ...

As an aside, the Costa Rican Horse gait are a good step forward and a lot of action is, with a lot of energy to walk, that is the `natural step from such animals in Costa Rica however has been the pattern of trotting horses, ie piaffe dressage but this process requires technical and not used for the Costa Rican jusgamientos step because it requires training and until the animal is required major lift the posterior or anterior extremity of what the animal is in reality. It is an art and dressage horses admiroa assemblers, but in Costa Rica trend there two horsemen, to the natural or she likes school. Â what is better? my passion for both.

Hello, I wonder if there is a good book on this race that I could buy (I'm from Puerto Rico). I saw on YouTube that seems to have judged the breed in various Categories to add to the score and have a possible winner in everything, that is, take away the chair, the judge in conformacià ³ n and then seat the way to all the copies?

    Good day.

© Find this site by chance and I liked how they handled the issues. Additionally, he has been a pleasure to find this item on the Costarricense de Paso Horse, which has filled me with joy to read such good reviews for our national race.

Being from Costa Rica, and lover of horses, maybe I can address some of the concerns that were in previous comments:

A Don Jorge Espinosa say that yes, in MÃ © xico SA there are specimens of the breed Costarricense de Paso, but do not think it possible to find specialized breeders of race, so the best option dpms contact breeders Rican and assess the possibility to import a copy from Costa Rica. Regarding contact breeders of this breed, you can find a list of contact information of several national breeders in this link:
    http://www.caballosymas.com/directorio/criadores-del-caballo-costarricense-de-paso

Jo-Ann, tell that we are working on a book about race Costarricense de Paso Horse. If you like, I can tell you when the book goes on sale so you can buy and add to your collection.
S In addition, the Costarricense de Paso Horse is judged in two ways ba basic food needs. The competicià ³ n official breed, judging morphology, functionality, durability and brao (among other features) and the type of joggers, which evaluates ° to the desempeà ± or horse trotting in one place and on a sounding board. In general, you would say or to better appreciate the virtues that offers more race enjoying the s ³ n competicià prosecuting officer than joggers, but I guess it tastes cuestià ³ n.

No more s by the time I leave, but first congratulate you for this nice website. Know that you have a friend in us and in http://www.caballosymas.com are here to serve.

    Greetings from Costa Rica!

Hey. I am from Honduras and this page is very interesting ..

For friends in Costa Rica I have a question: Â Wha is the difference between Costa Rican and Latin American horse?

I ask this because in some places spoken of both races alike. I understand that the Latin American results from the cross between the PRE and the Peruvian Paso. Also that the Costa Rican © n is a product of PRE and the Costa Rican Creole, but I think in the portal caballosymas.com Costa Rican state that a horse can result from espaà ± ol with Peru.

    Thanks

    Hello again! Mauritius is again.
Sorry for not being able to send more photos, I had a problem with them. First of all I would like to say hello and wish a good year ± o! To Juvenal still have the doubt if the difference in the Costa Rican and the Ibero step is that although the Costa Rican step was in its origins desendiente Berber horse and Peru, our race was formed and crosses were maintained within the same race (now if you cross a Peruvian Andalusian costarricese not incidentally, another bank has a different phenotype and genetic), however when referring to Latin American is a cross between Andalusian (or Spanish line) plus Costa Rica by the way, is played with the bloodline, ie 50% 75% 50% or 25%, etc.. depending on the attributes that the breeder wants. can check this link http://ascacopa.com/images/standar.jpg for racial pattern of our horse. I want to clarify that I am no expert so if I'm equivonca arena get me out of the error. Thank you.

Hi, I'm Panamanian ± o but fascinated with the Costa Rican race passing through as a member of the association and breeder of a breed well established. As for the American race that I can add is a breed in the breeding period, ie training, which obviously already established, to my taste, it will be the best breed of riding horses, to harmonize the movements and bra ¬ or Costa Rican horse step, and the unique beauty of a horse PRE. But missing many years and year selection ± ² n to achieve such a titanic task. Currently we have wonderful examples Iberoamerican but their progeny are very irregular indeed not even have the ability to set as variable number of genes. So for now let's enjoy the true ACCIA ² n low seat pitch of a Costa Rican. Greetings and good afternoon.

Hello I'm from Costa Rica and I find very interesting this page, I am a breeder of Costa Rican and Latin American pass ... I wanted to comment on q if you can achieve a very good across Latin American intelligently selected, purebred Spanish, preferably old and line origins of Urquijo, Terry, Viscount of Montesina, skylights, Osborne, Chamber Galvez, including the q ... These lines are of interest to cross with the Costa Rican lineaa q are more horses with temperament, brio, speed, elevation and q Most importantly, horses are more compact and medium which are more compatible with the Costa Rican way ...
Q The mistake has been made is to use Spanish-influenced open lines of most sports and big horses, which are not compatible with our race ..
The issue is a matter of doing things right and make an effort and look good comparibilidad padrear between the pimp and the mare, but the same problem tendremeos q not always produce neither fish nor fowl
