And the horses "middle" what

Posted in Colombian, Paso Fino by Romualdo | 2 Comments

The Atty. Eduardo Quijano, author of "Paso Fino: race distinguishes one people", sent me a review on the subject of cigars from here, beyond the pure and those who are in the middle ... Eduardo directs you to their ideas Nostradamus, but I think his writing transcends what there talking, so I decided to publish it as a new item / article ... do not stop reading it that there's much to reflect ...

PD - Eduardo: Nostradamus does not believe in "the middle" I coined that term to mean what the mestizos to which you refer in your letter ... Let's say our friend's position is that there is Nostradamus pure "here" nor pure "there" ... because to him everything that smacks of Berber copy, even a whiff of 500 years, is "fine pitch" ... As both a convenient approach to advocate for a race of "the Americas" ...

* * * * * * * * *

This item or issue on these pieces of undefined rhythmic patterns, called "Nostradamus" those of "average" is one that provokes an interesting thought. I am very aware that due to advances in molecular biology and genetic therapies in the coming decades the scientific breeding of plants and animals will be dealt with completely different strategies with which it has handled in recent centuries. Concepts such as "natural selection" and even "artificial selection" will be things of the past to the fact that you can now make a specific identification and selection of genes (alleles) in a laboratory and make specific and predetermined combinations of characters and that thus creating an individual measurement made you pay for the procedure. No chance or probability. With this system is all predetermined. Even these alleles (characters) can be obtained from different parents and thus new housing may have on its multiple genealogies chromosome. I frankly do not know if it is positive or negative. But the truth is that science in the field of molecular biology is advancing by leaps and bounds and every day we see breaking scientific news all our ideas and beliefs about the possibilities that exist in the field of reproduction in the animal kingdom.

Will it be possible to create a new breed of Paso Fino in a laboratory? Will it be possible to improve the Paso Fino breed through genetic therapies? I am no expert in molecular biology but I sense in the light of published information, that it is now possible or will very soon.

But while this is done we must work with traditional and orthodox methods arising from the principles and laws of Mendelian genetics.

The issue that confronts us "Nostradamus" is whether it is appropriate or not, the players use those horses as "intermediate" or "indefinite in his gait" for a while go to "fine pitch" and another time to "gauge". An interesting and probably very topical at the practice unstoppable hybrids or crosses between hybrids within the horse breeding dedicated to the sport of Paso Fino. I imagine there are thousands of copies as described by Nostradamus.

Let's try to make some deductions from what he presents us.

a. I conclude, first, most obvious, that not all horses that compete and exhibit as examples of "fine pitch" or are "step" or are "Paso Fino".

b. I gather, secondly, that a horse "trail" may have genes of "fine step" but not for a horse that "step" and much less of "Paso Fino breed.

c. I gather that this horse "trail" with genes from "fine pitch" if it is one that can "enable" mechanically, physiologically and biomechanically to run a similar motion or similar to the horse showing Paso Fino breed through surgeries, horseshoes orthotics, use of special equipment (faldetas, chains, weights, pulleys, elastic, etc.), conditioning and rhythm disturbances creating different distances during the stride cycle shift of the horse. All these techniques seem to work until that poor horse "intermediate" is deprogrammed either because he needs rest or a particular episode because it got too nervous. At that time, the horse returns to its genetic origin and begins to "trail".

Because of this, I infer and conclude that a horse "trail" or "trot" with genes from "fine pitch" in their chromosome structure, but you can "enable" to run the "paso fino" (or rather a form of "Piaf" very similar to "fine pitch") is not a horse race or "Paso Fino" or "Trocha". It is simply a hybrid or mestizo.

And here is the basic line that divides the "Paso Fino" (capital "referred to race horses native of Puerto Rico) of what is not. Simple, the "trail" constant or occasional indicates that the horse is not "Paso Fino" although it may have some or many genes of "fine pitch" as expected to occur with animals of other breeds or pedigrees that have been crossing pure horses and mares of our race pure. It is right and necessary to reiterate something that was established in Act 169 of 1988 which should be "no forgetting": "animals that are not race anything can make to a race, on the contrary, is the race" pure "who brings the others."

Also in 1988, Act 169, which was clearly established the difference between a purebred horse of Paso Fino and one was not. The plain language of the law was: "a pure fine horse with a Paso Fino Paso Fino mare thin, produce a fine and pure breeding of Paso Fino and nothing else." Words with light.

I think the problem we have confronted the "purists" is that we confuse the criteria for establishing the true difference between the pure Paso Fino horse and that exemplary hybrid, high quality athletic, able to run the "fine pitch". Instead of calculating the difference solely on the point of the "trail" unduly add other criteria such as having to do with the factors of strength, athletic power and speed of movements. On this second point we have seen for many years to persons, including judges certificates and solid experience nationally and internationally, which relieves our dogs to manifest these qualities extreme athletic grounds that this is one of the characteristics that are peculiar to horses "half blood" or "Colombian" but not necessarily to those of "pure fine pitch. This is a grave mistake. The strength, athletic power and speed of movements along with resistance are the key indicators of the arsenal of neuro-physical resources available to an athlete.

Therefore, with the strength, power, speed of movement and endurance and basic criteria inherent in any physical sport must also require in our sport and our Paso Fino horses bred Paso Fino as part of its characteristics as an exemplar of outstanding athletic achievement.

Precisely one of the great controversies over the years has been to define and agree what is "fine" in "fine pitch". I admit that I think to some extent this difference is exceeded in the direction we have advocated for years. Frankly, I'm not sure. But the truth is that in recent years many people who love pure Paso Fino horse that have let me know who agrees with me that we must strive to bring ever more spirited horses, more powerful, faster and with better morphology for the best execution of a "paso fino" sensational.

For many "purists" the horse "fine" for "fine pitch" was a copy of movements "soft" and "sensitive". Commends these copies of "soft footprint" that almost did not sound in the "sounding board". They talked about something that the horse had to "float through the air like a ballet dancer. The metaphor may be beautiful but totally irrelevant and scientifically incorrect.

For others, like me, this has been an erroneous view of science-based and absent. The horse "fine" for "fine pitch" because it is a horse of high performance must show extreme athletic skills. Therefore, we defend the thesis that a copy of "fine" Paso Fino is a ride "LOW", "FLEXIBLE", "SYMMETRIC", "QUICK", "SONORA" and "firm" and in which the speed and frequency of steps should be maximized with the only restriction being that does not compromise at any time the rhythmic order of the side four times in succession. Naturally, this will add a short stride and symmetrical. It is precisely under these conditions that the horse can express the dynamic stability or comfort in the saddle, which is the basis for biomechanical and functional excellence of our Paso Fino horses at the same time the best athletic ability.

For years I have been reviewing all the literature that has reached my hands on the theme of horse and I have never read anything to suggest that "soft footprint" is a desirable asset, any horse, let alone in a horse athlete. In fact, were many times when Don Hector Cestero, RIP, Don Pico Quinones, and brother RIP Gory Ballester expressed with pain as I was being introduced to the sport of the Paso Fino horse idea that a very weak expression kinetics ( "patimongos" Don Hector described them) were animals of excellence.

Thank God, today we are seeing on runways copies "pure" closer to the definition of "fine" we propose TREAD "LOW", "FLEXIBLE", "SYMMETRIC", "QUICK", "SONORA" Y " SIGN "without compromising the rhythmic order of the side four times in succession. I assure you that when I get to greet and converse with the owners of these pieces and see the pride on his face and joy of animals possess these qualities of excellence I too am filled with joy and hope.

I would summarize the above ideas. The recommendation, which makes "Nostradamus" no "caste" of intermediate or animals that "trail" for a while and go to "fine pitch" other, back fully under the terms on which it stands. But what happens is that this is not enough. Not enough for a stallion "troche" to be considered as a good candidate for reproduction. We have to move to another criterion has to be "fine" for "Paso Fino".

And now I refer to the definition contained in the Explanatory Memorandum of Law 169 of 1988 which reads:

"Puerto Ricans we frame our breed animals with excellent bloodlines, size and height, with excellent color, a long dash, short leg and short, excellent front and rear legs in perfect harmony and rhythm, four-stroke side Fast and well marked, and grace that only animals with these characteristics in their genes can still perpetuate and improve our race. "

Over the past 20 years, we tried to move the Paso Fino breeding of recreational and cultural activity to a scientific and agribusiness. The scientific breeding and promoting agro-Law 169 is inseparable from the appointment. I am sure that if we move to the second, we include the former but not the reverse. The satisfaction of a lover and defender of pure Paso Fino horse should not only increase the population of Paso Fino horses pure but must be directed at increasing the frequency of genes for traits of excellence to increase the population of pure Paso horses Fine examples of excellence and not poor quality.

I invite readers of this reflection that if you want to share in that effort breeding of Paso Fino horses bred join the project "Pure Excellence Paso Fino. This is a board of people interested in exchanging ideas, experiences, information and criteria to improve the native breed of Paso Fino horses. It is a platform of shared knowledge no expert, all learn from each other. In fact, they can integrate and participate in this meeting, breeders and riders who raise and / or compete horses "Colombians," "half blood", "gait", "thoroughbred racing horses" or any kind.

Naturally, we dream of achieving a Paso Fino horse of pure Spirit Power that as my dear friend and brother Gory Ballester that "skate and boat fire San Juan to Ponce Ponce and Vieques, and" drop dead without any signs of weakness. " This is my ideal horse pure Puerto Rican Paso Fino, what's yours?

- PD - This pure Paso Fino horse that "boot skates and fire" is not inspired nor intended to have any resemblance to an exemplary "Colombian" or any other source, the only similarity it has is with himself and was inspired by the ideal aesthetic and functional, which has moved from time immemorial to breeders and breeders of Paso Fino horses in perpetuating this genetic heritage within the parameters of excellence. Do not forget that the careers of Paso Fino horses in the Patron Saints, which sponsored horse competitions including Spanish Crown dating back centuries. The Federation of Sport Horse Paso Fino is the pioneer institution of the sport worldwide and that the "Sport of Paso Fino is a sport native to Puerto Rico but now has spread to Central America, U.S. and Europe. One thing that we feel very proud because it shows that the unique and distinctive characteristics of our native horse race, which were genetically selected and set by our ancestors throughout the centuries, respond to principles, ideals, aesthetic and functional value universal.

Of cigars from here, beyond the pure and those who are in the middle

Posted in Colombian, Paso Fino by Romualdo | 81 Comments

Today I received an email from a friend horseman, will be called "Nostradamus" ... in the mail presents several interesting points and some questions that everyone, including Pro Purists Colombians must ask ourselves ... but I'll tell you more, better let to you to read what we have been discussing ... I also hope and I invite you to also make their contributions and present their points of view ...

Nostradamus says,

Long ago has spread the notion that the horses as foals in his first start trail ride on what they will take power in their muscles and are adapting to the demands of supporting the new charge of its rider.

An adult horse and finished his lease and pocketed owner to consider that is a Paso Fino horse and compete as such should not trail at any time during the event.

So is it a horse and compete as trochador tune. What is appropriate in these situations immediately excuse the instance of that class. In both cases the indefinite form horses in these situations is to be carried out by the obnoxious entitlement that some barges carried out with great skill and some judges are very familiar with the long view.

There are few horses who make excuses for a fine pitch event "not to go to the modality" euphemism that will gauge and then when it comes to the championship which is when the judges should be more stringent these awards which had been previously excused in its class.

It is possible that a horse named chair and fine pitch is tired of going to step on a thin fine-pitch event in A flat, comfortable environment with individual runs barely performed in less than five minutes.

The reality is that they are poorly qualified trochadores horses and return to the form that it is more comfortable to the horse or trail. The damage they do judges conscious of this situation for lack of ethics and love of flattery, entertainment and invitations, accept as valid the premise that the rest of way trail horses.

Horses resting in his stall or a pasture after his thorough training of a professional who educates and condition, if still at an event because this track is its natural form and should NEVER be considered as a candidate for player of horses paso fino.

My question when I see so many competing as fine trochadores is: How do I make the children of those who apologized for not going to stop gauge mode? and how do I sell? Do paso fino ad as though I'm lying, or I keep repeating the lie that the horses rest in the trail and so I love the revenge of the pocket and insert it in my estate? Who can give me a solution to my dilemma?

Interesting topic, huh? I invite you to continue reading the comments to share with us this conversation ... and as I said at the beginning, you too are part of it ...

Diagonal and the air PFHA

Posted in Colombian by Romualdo | 4 Comments

I just read a topic on which PasoPedigreeTV Carlos Lopez says:

The PFHA, at its annual session, just adopted the powers of Trot & Gallop and Trocha Pura Colombiana.

The good news these categories include diagonal steps of the various regional shows and the Grand National Championship Show of PFHA, just as records are recognized and these specimens will be issuing them a new record of PFHA.

QUE VIVA EL PASO HORSE ... ..

With this decision the PFHA begins to distance itself from the definition of "Paso Fino" housing for years and are closer to the breed standard that promotes CONFEPASO ... What is the "catch"? ... ... ... ....

The race that promotes CONFEPASO not the "Paso Fino", but the Colombian horses ... as the Gospel says, "having ears, hear" ...

Reflections on the International Show in Ponce | 3

Posted in Colombian, Paso Fino by Romualdo | 8 Comments

On Monday I was talking to Andrew (my trainer) on the Show in Ponce and commented on the good arrangement seen in Colombian Horses in recent years ... this contrasts sharply with the arrangement that saw 30 years ago, when in Colombia dominated language games and bad leased horses ... I'm sure many of you will remember this preference for the horse to be "supported" on the brake ... and those "landlords" Colombians pulled back in his chair, pulling force in the mouth to control his copy ... but of course, with fashion super horse that has invaded collected worldwide riding, this would be impossible with a horse pulling through the mouth ...

Seeing all those horses well leased, with their necks arched and head posture impeccable, commented on the great influence that the assemblers have Puerto Ricans in the settlement of the Colombian Horses ... the importance of a good "hand," firm but gentle, to sink a horse properly ... and we remembered the teachings of Cesar Figueroa that told us we had no horses mouth ... the irony is that while we observe this improvement in the settlement of Colombians see as the predominant Purism opposite: horses " astrologer, nodding and struggling horses by the reins, walking stride, or that they want to get out of hand the editor ...

Recall that the Paso Fino is a breed of saddle horses, for that reason the arrangement is an indispensable part of this ... back to Caesar, he said that a good horse was a diamond in the rough and it was up to that diamond polishing editor and led it to the maximum that could give ... but when talking about the taming and grooming that Cesar gave the horses, his pride was breaking a horse that could mount either and that, no matter how experienced the rider off, the horse always show the best I could give ... I make a small digression to say that, among others, Cesar was the editor who took Guamaní to win the championship title in 4 consecutive years, retiring undefeated ...

Do not get me wrong, there are good editors in the purist ... but be a trainer of Paso Fino is a blend of art and science of craft work with something sports medicine and psychology ... in other words, not all that "climbs" in a horse and feeds it into a competition is an editor ... and I say this so that as owners, are aware of who you get your animals ... and as assemblers, remember that nobody is born knowing everything, but it is always wise who seeks to learn something new to improve on what you do ...
